And what’s even better about mastering architecture, it’s that it’s technology agnostic. No more flame wars about programming languages. We have the same architecture running on top of Linux-Lighttpd-MySQL-PHP , Python on Google App Engine & C# on ASP.NET (1/2/3.5). That’s a terrific advantage when it comes to maintenance. All of our engineers can switch in no-time and be able to operate on any project. We even went as far as having two different languages running on the same app (PHP + Python) without any hitch. Hooray for multi-tier !

Glad to find someone relying on something else than MVC. We share the same architecture model, which allowed us to build APIs & website in half the time — and which are highly & easily scalable. We’ve added a few more layers (Application Logic + Cache management + Plugin Hooks) as we grew and are now running everything smoothly. Architecture can be your best friend if you master it !

Hi Vadim, I use inkscape a vector graphics editor to easily create nice looking graphs. The 2 icons are imported from the Tango library.
